Babylon’s Fall Beta shows signs of life

Today: Played Pokémon Unite? The developers might want your help — Sony is giving away a free PlayStation 5 game next month — If you want to smell like a survivor, Capcom’s got just the fragrances for you

Babylon’s Fall closed beta on PC soon

This will be PlatinumGames first live service

PlatinumGames has confirmed that the closed beta for its upcoming live service game Babylon's Fall will launch in a limited set of regions before being rolled out to everyone who registered by mid-August.

This will be the first phase of closed beta testing, which is limited to Steam on PC. There will be two more phases later that will include PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 as well.

  • July 29th: Japan
  • August 5th: North America
  • August 12th: Europe
  • Beta characters will not carry over to full release
  • Sharing media or information about the game is prohibited

New territory: PlatinumGames has called Babylon’s Fall a “new challenge”, presumably because it is the first live service game the developer has created. Babylon's Fall was first revealed in June 2018 and has only shown a few signs of life since then.

Post-launch: Square Enix re-announced Babylon's Fall in June and revealed that it will be a live service game that will be regularly updated and can be played with up to four players cooperatively.

Pokémon Unite survey wants to know exactly how frustrated you are

Pokemon Unite is created by TiMi Studio

The Pokémon Unite team is asking players to fill out a survey to let them know what parts of the experience they have found frustrating.

Unite recently launched on Switch and is gearing up for a release on mobile next month, but the team wants as much data as they can get to hone the experience.

Good, bad, meh: “How’s your experience been on Aeos Island, Trainers?” the game's Twitter account asked, including a link to this survey, which will take five to ten minutes to complete.

Training day: The survey also asks what kind of playstyle you prefer, whether you consider the game a unique or even original concept, and asks you to explain what satisfies you about the game. The hope is that Pokémon Unite can become big in the esports scene.

Which game over screen was used for the ending of Fast Times at Ridgemont High?

Hey bud, let's party!

ANSWER: Missile Command!

The final scene of classic 80s flick Fast Times at Ridgemont High closes with an equally classic arcade game: Just as Ridgemont Mall shuts down for the night, a lone kid is playing the classic Atari game Missile Command.

Does Missile Command’s nuclear defence gameplay have anything to do with the story of Fast Times at Ridgemont High? Well, that’s up to how dark you like your silly teen comedies: The movie uses the game’s Game Over screen, which simply states The End as its final shot. In the context of the game, that means nuclear war has decimated all you hold dear.
