Developer diary from Bethesda’s Starfield
Bethesda has published a new developer diary video about Starfield, which discusses the game design philosophy and how it aims to “allow every player to create their own story”.
The video features design director Emil Pagliarulo, lead quest designer Will Shen, lead artist Istavan Pely and game director Todd Howard having a nice chat for about five minutes.
- Starfield is Bethesda’s new original sci-fi RPG
- Scheduled for launch on PC and Xbox on November 11th
- Much more involved character creation than before
Player choice: "The more we can put you in the situation where you're going to decide – that's what makes video games the best form of entertainment that they are,” said Howard.
Interactivity: They talk about gameplay and revealed a robot companion called Vasco. Interacting with companions is a major priority for the team, and Starfield will feature a persuasion minigame for NPC conversations.
