Paradox delays Bloodlines 2 again, signs up new developer to finish the game
2020 has been a good year for Paradox Interactive: Their financial report says revenue is up 39% while operating profit is up 33%. On the other hand, Vampire: the Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 developer Hardsuit Labs is not doing so great.
Bloodlines 2 was originally scheduled for release last year but was delayed – and has now been delayed again. The project's creative director and lead writer were both fired last summer, indicating that the project was in pretty dire straits, and now Paradox has kicked Hardsuit Labs off the project entirely.
Bad blood: “We have now chosen to postpone the release of the game further, and we will not be launching the game in 2021,” explained CEO Ebba Ljungerud. Paradox has “started a collaboration with a new studio partner to finish work on the game.” No new launch date has been announced, and pre-orders have been closed.
Crusaders: Fortunately, Paradox's other games are still going strong, particularly Crusader Kings III which set new sales and concurrent player records. The same can not be said for Empire of Sin, which Paradox admits being “not satisfied” with.
