Pokémon Diamond & Pearl goes Unreal

Enterprising Pokémon fans are working on a reimagining of the DS title Pokémon Diamond & Pearl using Unreal Engine.

Twinleaf Town is looking a lot leafier

It's not exactly a remake, but more of an overhaul of some of the game's environments. So far, the player’s hometown Twinleaf Town and the first wild area Route 201 have been recreated.

Pokémon Unreal: “I tried to go for a mix between Pokémon Sword and Shield and World of Warcraft with a little bit of Breath of the Wild,” the author explained. “This version of Twinleaf Town would definitely NOT run on a Switch.” Meanwhile, rumours claim Gamefreak are already working on remakes of several classic Pokémon games.

Out with the old: Pokémon Sword & Shield was criticized by some fans for scaling back the Pokédex and recycling old assets, and it looks like parts of the fan base are ready for a new take on the series – even though the dreams of a more detailed and realistic open-world Pokémon may not mesh well with the series' core gameplay.

SUP3R5 cancels and refunds all orders

In a somewhat unexpected turn of events, SUP3R5 has cancelled all orders for their PlayStation 2-styled PlayStation 5 consoles.

Sony only sells a white PlayStation 5 console

The company was completely inundated with orders, leading to the ecommerce solution faltering and some costumers complained that purchases were not being confirmed – while others were already posting auctions selling the just-ordered consoles at a significant mark-up.

Credible threats: Then things took an ugly turn: “Last night, our team began receiving credible threats to their safety,” read a company statement. “We aren’t willing to risk the safety and well-being of our team, or the potential impact this would bring to delivering your order.”

Orders cancelled: “All existing orders will be cancelled and fully refunded in the coming days. You will receive a notification when this happens.” SUP3R5 does not rule out the possibility that the product will eventually reappear, but for now the company is off the grid.

Blueprints offer pre-built custom versions of guns with unique skins, but are not supposed to change the base stats of weapons. According to YouTuber JGOD, the blueprint version is significantly more powerful.

What was Sucker Punch’s first and only Nintendo game called?

ANSWER: Rocket: Robot on Wheels!

It’s time to save Whoopie World! Hey, I didn’t make the name

Sucker Punch built its reputation on hits like Sly Cooper and Infamous, but they actually started making a Nintendo 64 game. Rocket: Robot on Wheels was a physics-based platformer published by Ubisoft, and while the game might not look particularly unique, it featured an unusually realistic physics engine and the game’s puzzles and platforming was built around it.

That was pretty unusual in the late 90s, and particularly on the consoles at the time – which had more than enough trouble just drawing passable 3d graphics. It’s hard to find a copy of Rocket now since it didn’t sell particularly well, but if you can find one it’s a fascinating look at how talented Sucker Punch was even before they made it big.
