Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny topped the US, UK, and Belgian charts while Labyrinth of Galleria: Coven of Dusk was most played in Japan as of December 6th.

Top titles: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl were at second and third place in the UK charts, but were beaten by Football Manager 2022 Touch and AAA Clock in the US eShop.

Cutscene has made a series about Japanese game developer Hideki Kamiya, notable for leading projects like Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry, Okami, and Bayonetta.

The last episode in the series is about the upcoming shoot'em-up Sol Cresta, which PlatinumGames announced and showcased at the indie festival BitSummit.

Parenthood: “It’s hard not to think of my games as my children. After all, it takes a lot of hard work to raise them up, and a lot of love, too. However, once they’re done, any choices about them are entirely out of my hands,” he said.

Dock-and-split: Sol Cresta is both a spiritual and literal sequel to Moon Cresta and Terra Cresta, a pair of 80s action games developed by Nichibutsu, now known as Nihon Bussan. It has been 36 years since the last game in the series.

The Game Awards founder and host Geoff Keighley has been fuelling rumours of a Sonic announcement alongside the official Sonic Twitter account.

Keighley said that he is “Very much” a Sonic fan, and the official Sonic Twitter account quickly chimed in asking if Keighley has “any extra invites to TGA?”.

403 Forbidden: Sega has registered the domain, but it's still not pointing anywhere. Sonic Frontiers is rumoured to be an open-world Sonic game.

Not-so-secret: Sonic Frontiers appeared on the radar in May, after dataminers came across the name Sonic Rangers. The game is expected to launch for PC and consoles.

What is the main character in the Animal Crossing movie called?

Ai and Mr. Resetti in the Animal Cross movie, aka Dōbutsu no Mori.

Did you know there is an Animal Crossing movie? It was only released in Japan, but enjoyed a proper theatrical release in 2006 following the release of Animal Crossing: Wild World. The film follows a young girl named Ai who just moved to a new village populated by animals.

The movie is a slice-of-life story about the little pains and pleasures of moving to a new place, and it's a pretty cozy watch – if you know the Japanese language. There are no plans for an English translation, despite Animal Crossing steadily growing in popularity outside Japan and skyrocketing with the release of Animal Crossing New Horizons.
