Team Ninja Director Wants to Work on ‘Celtic Legends’ Game After Nioh 2

“I love the world of Celtic legends as well and think it would be a perfect fit for a game"

Team Ninja Game Director Fumihiko Yasuda recently revealed to DailyBits that he thinks “the world of Celtic legends” would be a “perfect fit” for a video game.

“The end of the Edo era, known as Bakumatsu in Japanese, as well as the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history, are two time periods I would definitely like to incorporate into a game in the future,” said the Nioh 2 lead.

Nioh 2 almost looks like it was painted with a brush

“I love the world of Celtic legends as well and think it would be a perfect fit for a game. I want to try and challenge myself in the future to create a title based around these myths as well.”

Rock-Hard Challenge: Team Ninja have a history of making extremely challenging games. Although Nioh is often likened to Dark Souls, the studio’s penchant for difficulty stems from its Ninja Gaiden roots.

Nioh 2 Brings Choice: The original game had players take on the role of William Adams, a Western samurai who arrives in Japan to track down a deadly enemy. The sequel allows players to create their own avatar and features an expanded combat system.
