Game Awards 2020 will be a digital event
The sixth annual Game Awards event airs on December 10th and will not host a live audience this year but be broadcast from studios in Los Angeles, London and Tokyo.
Almost 50 million watched the show online and Geoff Keighley will return to host this year’s digital event, which will be streamed in 4k. The show will feature premieres, announcements, musical performances and – of course – awards.
Live magic: “Tokyo is a huge area for game development, Europe’s really important, and we’ve never been able to do that just because of logistics,” said Keighley. “It was really important to me that we did a live show, and not something that was pre-recorded,” he continued, saying nothing matches the “magic of winning these awards live”.
Our event: “What I’ve found is that the community really cares about this show and how it represents the industry, and there are lots of award shows out there for lots of mediums, but The Game Awards is so unique,” said Keighley. The Game Awards 2020 will be broadcast on all the major streaming platforms.
