ID@Xbox Winter Game Fest indie demos

a selection of indie demos on show, plenty to check out!

Microsoft has revealed the full ID@Xbox Winter Game Fest demo listing, and 36 indie game demos will be playable until December 21st.

They're more like showfloor demos than regular try-before-you-buy demos, since many of them are still in early production and not nearly finished yet. Most of them are still a long way from release.

Xbox Dashboard: Highlights include the procedurally generated dungeon crawler Loot River, a post-apocalyptic cosmic horror game called Death Trash, and a retelling of the fairy tales about Baba Yaga in Blacktail.

Over 35 demos: The full list of demos can be found on the Xbox blog, and you can play them on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X/s – but note that some demos are not available in all regions.

Activision Blizzard staff setup GoFundMe page while striking

ABK Worker's Alliance logo

Activision Blizzard employees are pushing for unionisation, and part of their efforts include starting a GoFundMe to cover lost wages. They are asking for $1 million to help workers stand firm while striking.

The ABK Worker's Alliance has officially announced their industrial strike action, and is encouraging others to “stand with us in creating lasting change.”

Signed off: Union cards are being circulated, marking the beginning of the process to create a voting bloc that must agree on strike action in order to begin the collective bargaining process.

Donations: The ABK Strike Fund was organised by Jessica Gonzalez, who tweeted “All I want for Christmas is an ABK union.” As of writing the campaign has received around $222,856 in donations.

Which of these games has the fastest speedrun time?

Colonel Mustard and Mrs. Peacock in the lounge in the 1998 Clue (or Cluedo) port.

ANSWER: Clue: Murder at Boddy Mansion!

You need to be a little crazy to get into speedrunning. Why else would you speedrun Clue on PC? Maybe the most pertinent question is, why is there a speedrunning community around the PC version of Clue? Of course, the real question is … how fast can a good Clue speedrunner beat the game?

Five minutes? Two minutes? How about … less than a second? Chrno holds the current world record which is 583 milliseconds. Since Clue is just a game of deduction, you can make a wild accusation and if you're lucky, it's correct! Maybe not the most exciting speedrun in the world, but it's still quite impressive to beat a game in less than a second.
