Total Mayhem Games will continue to develop co-op or multiplayer experiences
Total Mayhem Games are closing in on the release of their fourth We Were Here title in the shape of We Were Here Forever.
When asked what is coming next by DailyBits, studio co-founder Lucia de Visser hinted the team may break free of Castle Rock once Forever shifts, although co-op is very much still the focus for any new game.
“We’re not able to go in detail about this, but our players keep asking for more content,” said De Visser. “We love developing the We Were Here series, but that doesn’t mean our next project will be a We Were Here game. We can confirm that if we’re developing a new game, it would be a co-op experience or multiplayer game. We noticed it’s an itch we love to scratch and over time it became our strongest unique selling point.”
We’ve Always Been Here: Total Mayhem Games are yet to release a game outside of the We Were Here series.
The Best in the Series: We Were Here Together, the third game in the franchise, is currently the studio’s highest-rated on Metacritic with an average review score of 77%.
